Dr Lynne Steele
Dr Lynne Steele was a graduate of the University of Glasgow Medical School in 1995 and initially worked as a registrar in Emergency Medicine prior to embarking on a career in psychiatry. She undertook further specialist training in psychiatry in the UK obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom in 2002.
Lynne completed further advanced specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry with special interest in perinatal psychiatry, mood and anxiety disorders including obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorder, somatoform illness and PTSD. A completion certificate for Advanced Specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry was awarded in 2006.
After immigrating to Australia in 2006 she has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist within the public health service for four years prior to entering private practice.
Dr Lynne Steele held the position of academic coordinator for mental health with the University of QLD – Rural Division from 2007-2010. She has completed training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, Cognitive analytical therapy and also EMDR. She also is trained in provision of both ECT (Electro Convulsive Therapy) and TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation).
Lynne is currently Clinical Director of Archerview Mental health Unit, a 23 bedded low acuity inpatient ward with day patient psychotherapy programs based at the Hillcrest Hospital Rockhampton. Dr Lynne Steele is also currently a member of the Medical Advisory Committee for Ramsay Health Hillcrest Hospital.
